KSO calls activities at Loikhai (Thangting Areas) unethical

Hanglep: The Kuki Student Organisation (KSO) in a release Thursday said it was “perturbed about the frequent attempt to create a chaotic, irrational and unsolicited activities in and around Loikhai (Thangting Areas) by the valley based individuals and groups”.

The release, intended for the general public further said such activities in the said land areas is unethical and unbecoming of any individual group or society to conduct activities of any sort without taking due consent of the local populace or the chief (s).

While appealing to all to respect the sentiments and aspiration of the local people for peace and communal harmony, and for ushering in a socially just and equitable society, KSO furthermore clarified, any activities carried out without the consent of the local settlers, even if it benefits the locals or the general public, shall be “deemed a direct challenge and infringement upon the rights of the indigenous tribal settlers”.
